The SAS cares for unwell and unwanted animals, especially equines. We would love to continue to offer a permanent home for more animals in need. Yet, as costs keep mounting, funds need to be secured to provide the best possible care for our well loved residents.

We use PayPal as our online donation method. Please click on the "PayPal Donate" tab to make an online donation with or without your PayPal account. Once your donation has been made you will be emailed a receipt so you can be sure we have received it. Any amount, however small, is very important to our animals. All donations will be used exclusively for our animal care and upkeep as SAS work is voluntary.

Alternatively donating via standing order would help us meet our vet and feed bills on a monthly basis and to plan for the future. If you wish to kindly make regular contributions towards the running of SAS, please fill in a standing order from your bank, or you could make out a one off cheque, both being payable to Spencer Animal Sanctuary at……

Just an approximate idea of basic costs per horse…

.....Wormers : £10 quarterly

.....Farrier: £20 for a trim, £60 for a set of shoes (every 8 weeks)

.....Vaccinations: £30 (+vet callout fee) yearly

.....Food: £10 monthly (+winter hay: 400 bales)

.....Disposal of horse on death: £235

.....All field rent about £500 per month

.....Vet treatment fees: £+++! Emergency situations require an immediate response and of course the animal comes first whatever the cost. Eventually our aim is to reduce this cost by insuring all our equines to secure their future well-being and to save on expenses. This would cost £20 per horse each month.

As you can see, these costs all add up and we desperately need to make improvements, such as, mobile field shelters in every field and to hard core all gateways.
